Relocation Tips
Start Early
- Purge items you no longer use
- Box seasonal items, stack, and put away
- Donate unwanted items to charity (check tax deductibility)
- Identify items the mover cannot ship (paint, aerosol cans, stains, bleach, open bottles of liquid, liquid propane, flammables and ammunition)
- Make travel arrangements with airlines or railway
- Call Liberty Movers for a free estimate.
Four Weeks Prior to Moving Day
- If you are moving long distance, obtain school, medical, church and employment records and take them with you.
- Locate jewelry, stocks/bonds, deed to your home, important papers, irreplaceable photos, prescriptions, cash, and ammunition; carry these items personally.
- Pack away seldom-used items (garage, basement, attic, spare room)
- Make a list of people you need to notify of your change of address obtain a change of address kit from the post office.
- Contact utility companies: gas, electric, telephone, cable TV, oil, water for the disconnect and reconnect of there services.
- Book your moving date with Liberty Movers
Two Weeks Prior to Moving Day
- Pack all nonessential day-to-day items
- If you are moving long distance, have your car serviced for the trip

Final Countdown
- Pack the "arrival kit"
- Drain gas and oil from lawn mowers, etc.
- Defrost freezer
